Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1/2 of a medium onion
- 1 egg and 1 egg white
- 1/8 tsp of red pepper (can use more if you want a little more heat)
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp of ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp of cloves
- 3/4 tsp of all spice
- 3/4 tsp of oregano
- 1 1/4 tsp of cumin
- 1 1/4 tsp of coriander
- 1 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
- 2 tbsp of fresh parsley finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of fresh mint finely chopped
- 1 egg and 1
egg white - 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
Steps:
- I choose not to use skewers, because it is just one less thing to do. But if you decide to use wood skewers soak them in water for an hour, or you can always use metal skewers as well.
- Chop onion into small-medium size pieces
- Add ground beef, onion, and herbs and spices to a mixing bowl and mix to well combined
- Add egg, egg white and bread crumbs to the beef mixture.
- Set the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes as it will become easier to form or kebabs as your beef might have warmed up from your hands.
- Pre-heat grill on medium-high heat for 10-15 minutes before you start to grill.
- Use your hands to form 1 1/2 to 2 inch thick kebabs and as long as you want. I just make them the width of my hand.
- If you are using skewers place them onto the skewer.
- Place kebabs on to the grill and cook 4-5 minutes on each side until internal temp is 160.
Serve with pitas, hummus, tabouli, and/or taziki.
